In the Pa Auk Forest Monastery in Myanmar over a thousand people from all over the world are first taught 40 concentration techniques to be able to analyse the ultimate realities of  Mind and Matter (Nāma and Rūpa) at subatomic particle level by “their own direct experience”.

They then proceed to practise Dependent Origination (Paticca-samuppāda) and Insight Meditation (Vipassanā) as described in the “Path of Purification” (Visuddhi Magga), a 1,500 year old summary of the Pāli texts: the legacy of the profound practical knowledge as originally taught by Gotama the Buddha.

For people in search of the truth it can be a life changing experience to learn about “the wisdom light” produced by a concentrated mind found in the heart base - the sixth sense - described in detail.

Rare footage of the Most Venerable Pa Auk Tawya Sayadaw explaining Vipassanã and Dependent Origination in English, illustrated by an artist/architect (watercolour, animation) make this subtle and profound knowledge enjoyable to watch even by non practitioners.

A brief look at the daily life of meditators and the support of danã (joyful offering) by both visitors and the local people who support them through-out the year.  (2014)

This video is about Pa Auk Tawya (Forest Monastery) Buddhapujaniya (Mahadana) when people from all over the world come to make offerings on the first full moon in February. From the simple beginnings in 1926 with the "Thit-Thee"  Sayadaw (after his diet of fruits and tubers), it has grown to more than a thousand meditators resident to learn the Samatha, Nāma and Rūpa (mind and matter), Paticcasamuppāda (past and future lives) and Vipassanā meditation techniques from the Pa Auk Tawya Sayadaw. He started as a forest monk but now teaches these subtle and profound techniques all over the world. The techniques are based on original Theravada Pāḷi scriptures and Abhidhamma, and are taught unchanged based on knowledge passed on by the Buddhist Saṅgha (monks) for nearly 2.600 years. (February 2015)
